Haitian President Jovenel Moise was fatally shot by gunmen at his private home overnight Wednesday. His wife, Martine Moïse, was shot multiple times in the attack and has been brought to a hospital in Miami. Officials said her vitals are stable, WPLG reported. “Early information suggests it was a group of people who spoke English and Spanish. They were armed with high-caliber weapons,” Interim Prime Minister Claude Joseph said, calling the crime a “barbaric act.”
